Garvin Chambers Jr. grew up in the small city of Amarillo, Texas, where his two loving parents raised him and his six siblings. Growing up Garvin had a deep love for sports and music. In 2021 Garvin and his family relocated to Pearland, Texas to help with the launch of The Connect Church, where he served as the first Worship Director but later became the Worship and Student Pastor. Garvin is married to Tyesha and they have two beautiful daughters, Laila and Nova. His hobbies are music, sports and watching movies with his girls.

Declan Toochi Ohanele grew up in Nigeria. He was raised with strong Christian values and a deep sense of responsibility that shaped his passion for ministry and service. Declan is very devoted to God’s calling on his life and has dedicated himself to guiding people especially young people on their faith journey.
To strengthen his calling to ministry, Declan pursued formal training in ministry, earning a Diploma in Ministry from Triumphant Bible School, a Diploma in Practical Ministry from Impact Bible Training College, and a Graduate Certificate in Ministry from Christ the Redeemer School of Disciple. He also holds an International Diploma in Computer Studies from NCC Education United Kingdom.
He is married to Blessing and together they are blessed with four children.

Director of Small Groups
Sherry Barrus grew up in the beautiful Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. The last of six siblings. At the tender age of eleven, Sherry became rooted in Church, where she also devoted her life to Christ and has been serving in the church since.
At the Church where she grew up, she ministered to young adults and was part of a thriving Radio Ministry focused on Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2008, she married Donald Barrus and moved to the United States. She spent most of her years in Wyoming and eventually moved to Kemah, Texas in 2017. She is also a very proud mom to daughter, Adalia. Her hobbies include lazy days at the beach, visiting new places and enjoying family.

Student PastorMatthew
Matthew Geisel grew up in Groves Texas. He was raised by two hardworking and caring parents. He is the oldest sibling of one brother. Matthew is very passionate about his faith and God’s calling in his life.
In 2018 Matthew started a Christian juggler evangelism ministry with the desire to see people come to know Jesus as their savior. In 2023 Matthew moved to Houston pursuing an opportunity as a High School tennis coach. His hobbies consist of tennis, creating and editing videos, and trying new foods.
Matthew previously served as youth pastor and a travelling speaker, before joining The Connect Church. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and Christian Apologetics, and a Master’s degree in Religious Education, from Liberty University.
